Koh Samui 07 Day 1

Okay, so before I drag on my long over-due blog entries further. This is the write-up! We left for Koh Samui on the 8pm flight on Friday and arrived at its airport at 10-something.

This is the smallest airport I've been to so far. But it's not like its shabby and smelly anything. The airport looks more like a nice resort and gives a laid-back feeling. The custom guy goes through the passbooks at a leisurely pace and you feel a little irritation at his lack of efficiency. Then you remember, "We're on a holiday getaway!" Time for relaxing at the beach, spa, resort... , so you try to forget that you are waiting in line for your documents to be processed and enjoy bumming.

On the plane, I think 90% of the people on board were ang mos, while 5% were Singaporeans. I'm wondering if it's cos Ko Samui is not popular among Singaporeans, or is it the wrong time of the year. Isn't NUS, NTU on holiday even if the rest of the students are in school??


On the way from the airplane to the customs counter. I feel like I'm on a tour vehicle in the night safari.
Next morning, we're clueless on how to start the holiday. We start with a mega buffet breakfast, then stroll around to find some entertainment.

The Anantara Resort

Weather's a bit cloudy, but we still get into swim gear and lounge by the pool. We have some pool side snacks for lunch and sudoku challenges are handed all around. My dad has printed 3 to 4 copies of each Sudoku puzzle and has even brought along pencils and even a pencil sharpener. We spend the day reading books we selected from the resort's library and challenging one another to Sudoku puzzles. Oh man.. Are we nerdy or what..

Dinner at Full Moon Restaurant. Not Full Moon party k, as what I got to learn about from a friend. This is a family event.

What's a holiday without food. =) Full Moon Restaurant surprisingly served reasonably-priced and interesting dishes.
