judo championships!

I just spent 8 hours in front of the tele, excluding dinner.Combination of hongkong dramas and yeah.. the entire episode 1 of grey's anatomy. So I'm a bummer? yeah yeah.. but I'm happy.. for now. =)

oh yeah! and I am also very very happy today because I went to support the judo national schools championships today and guess what? RGS won the B division and RJ girls won the A division judo championships today! considering that rgs only started judo in november 2003, I think it's really a great feat. =) Think nobody really understands why I'm so happy. I'm just sick of hwachong always winning the championship year after year cos they have lack of competition. I know we just have to deal with the circumstances, and I know I sound like I'm whining about the past, but seriously! it used to be so unfair... of cos of no fault to hc, it's our own fault we didn't start the sport earlier. In RJC, the rjc gals were mostly new to the sport and had 1 and a half year experience before the national schools, while the HC gals had been training for 5 and a half years. And we trained hell hard at it too, but results showed that we just couldn't catch up in time. but since judo in rgs started, this year, I think the sec4s with a full 4 year judo training, and the j2s with also 4 years of training, (they started in sec 3), have both beat nanyang and hwachong to be the champions this year. How great is that? I'm sure Mr eng and Tan Yi are elated too =) Shows that investment in rgs gals is all worth it ay? =) RJC girls champions in what? 17 years or something??!? Go Raffles girls!

Some photos from graduation

Ekkies decided to get a family portrait done, and mon-ster came back from Sydney for the portrait and my commencement, so here's me and mon-ster in our gowns at the studio. The photos will only be ready in a week's time. I hope they turn out okay. meaning, as long as nobody looks hideous and we actually look like ourselves. I just collected my passport sized photos, and I think so much touch-up was done, the photo doesn't even look like me anymore! What's this man...... What's the point of a photograph if the person in it looks prettier than I am supposed to look, when it doesn't look like me anymore?

Thursday, 13th july, was a super exhausting day. My mum drove me to NUS at 11.30am, so that I could attend Jieming's convo. Cherlyn and Shanice could onli make it during Jm's convo and not mine, but they wanted to take photos with me in my gown, so yeah, was out and about in my gown, perspiring like mad, even when it wasn't my time slot yet. So the next 4 photos were taken during jm's convo, not mine, though nobody wld actually have known. Thanks Shanice for the sunflower, it's still very much alive. I was so scared it was going to die, but it revived itself when I put it in water at the end of the day. Thanks Cherlyn for the balloon and ChwanS for being my photoguy and overall handy man.

Thanks a lot for the lilies guys =) They are really very pretty and sweet-smelling! I was so gan dong until I almost teared. Luckily i didnt, else it wld have been very weird. I wld be the ultimate emo freak if I cried during convo. But yeah, thanks... for both the lilies and for turning up. =)

Oh yah, this is written like 3 days later, and I just need to say I am very happy the lilies are still very much alive. Thought sure no hope after the state they were in after my day of madness. And one of the buds bloomed fully le, and that one flower is really gorgeous. the petals are fat and juicy. I'm waiting for the other bud to bloom. Knowing the wonderous potential of the little plain bud, I am very sad chor lor me somewhat managed to snap the other bud off when I was wrestling through the crowd on thursday =(.

Okay, yes.. so to those present, I'm really glad you came to see me. I was a bit disappointed over quite a few people who said they'd come, but didn't appear in the end. and others whom I didn't ask, but were still hoping they'd appear. Oh well.. but yeah... life's like that.

After my convo, some of us went back to kr to take photgraphs! oh man... and then we went to eat at macs for dinner, so that I could go for the CPE convo at night.
