My bibliography!

Okay, I just had to put this up, because I think its hilarious.

This morning, I was not a happy person. I was dreading having to begin work on my technical paper and the worry of only starting it this morning before the submission deadline. I opened the template sent by a certain monkey man. Thanks by the way for the template, it seriously saved my life!

I was very impressed by the layout and auto update features of the template, and then I saw THIS! For a split second,( I swear it was only in my moment of sleep deprivation), I thought to myself,"Wah! So scary... Damn high-tech, can auto update your details either from some inbuilt auto-detection software, or from some massive online database."

Then I read more carefully.

Haha.. Okay, you are spot on. I have no defenses for myself.

I considered actually putting this biblio into my technical paper. Just Almost. ^0^

It's over for now...

Yes! I must be mad to be awake at 5.30 am in the morning when I've just had handed in my FYP thesis and technical paper today. I should really be sleeping and taking a break, going out to enjoy myself. Feel like shopping too. But then again, there's really nothing worth celebrating. cos, oh well.. It's not like its a good job well done, and there's still a billion things that need to be done.
as what rj said, this sem, we're so busy with our fyps, that there's seriously no time to keep up with the things happening in hall. Missed the C blk culture night already, and I don't know, I'm having the weird pre graduation blues again. Feel so detached from the blk already, maybe fyp is made with such a purpose, to prepare us from leaving this place. Seriously, don't think I will keep up relationships with many people in hall, Despite having put in all my 4 yrs into kr. I mean I had happy times, but hall is just so.. I dont what's the word.. transient. things happen so quickly, when sch starts, we'd just be the batch that graduated and well, the remaining friends in hall would start welcoming the fresh batch, and with us or not, life goes on. And of course, my life will continue too, although I have no idea of the path that lies ahead in the future. Hall waits and remembers nobody.
Cramping in E2 for these few days made me some new friends, pity that I didn't get to know them earlier, but oh well... I just don't have the fate of making friends in engine in the 4 yrs here, I have no idea why. My friend went for hr class with 4 friends, and ended up making 6 other friends from HR class and a group of them even went to genting together during the hols. How fantastic is that? Have NEVER made a friend through classes in engine EVER! Maybe I haven't had the energy to be friendlier beyond class, or there's just no fate I guess. so I am grateful to have those few of you who accompany me through lessons, and those who save me! Still find it amusing how in hall, I am viewed as a good student, mugger with good cap. In EE, I'm that play too much in hall, clueless scatterbrain, needy of help and reminders to start on that coming DEADLINE. Ok, I have to say it here. JY thanks a million for sending me your template and calling me to help me figure it out! You owe me coffee! =)
I guess I'll just be glad with the few stable, "we will still actually be part of each other's lives when I leave KR" friends. Have actually spent more time with otherr final years more than usual this period of time, either cos we are hiding out in engine E2 together or for breakfast or for rehearsals and suddenly, I feel a little contented. Will I still see you after I graduate, or are we going to be ending the chapters in one another's lives?

Today, I...

Today, I started reading most of the literature I printed and searched for last semester, and discovered many theories that I SHOULD have known, but did not know for the tuning of my fuzzy membership functions using genetic algorithm. Some of them, I did not use (nevermind), some contradicted my method, (oh shit..) and luckily I did find some material to support my approach (which I did on blind instinct or the supervisor just suggested). So yeah, method before research is not good for the heart, if the simulation takes 60 each. You can't discover you did something wrong 2 days before the thesis proposal and still manage to change your program and come up with results. SO Peeps... okay, actually only jieling is left and shaopeng, do some real literature review during CA1, else you may just follow my example.

I'm almost sure I read most of my material last time, cos I have highlights on a few papers, but I guess I just don't recall, cos I didn't understand a thing then. It's there!! Why didn't I do it that way or consult my fav ga prof about it (note, not my supervisor) Actually, a part of me (the unambitious part of me?) is happy that I at least understand what I am reading now. Even though, I should have done that eh.. last semester. It's rather impossible to when you are just new to the project, and technical papers available are not supposed to be basic concepts and are usually more revolutionary in nature. So how? go and get a textbk first, then read the technical papers lorh..

My supervisor knows very little about GA and fuzzy and is actually specialising in Power systems, while my real hurdle the examiner is totally passionate about the whole artificial intelligience arena (fuzzy, ga, neural networks) and all. okay, very boring post, cos I am having a break in e2, and I am just going why why why!? But my paper is progressing with good speed and I get to write a lot of technical stuff in my paper. But of cos I suffered the consequences in the beginning when I was new and lost to the theories. If only I had results.. pls drop from the sky. Don't even know if my application is correct, cos seriously, my sup won't know either. And ga expert will think Im crazy for asking him only now. Let's wait till ca4 when my examiner laughs his head off or shakes his head in despair, then perhaps I will be enlightened. =)

The Voice Within

The Voice WithinWritten
by Christina Aguilera, Glen Ballard

Young girl don't cry
I'll be right here when your world starts to fall, ooh
Young girl it's alright
Your tears will dry, you'll soon be free to fly, ooh
When you're safe inside your room you tend to dream
Of a place where nothing's harder than it seems
No one ever wants or bothers to explain
Of the heartache life can bring and what it means
When there's no one else
Look inside yourself
Like your oldest friend just
Trust the voice within
Then you'll find the strength
That will guide your way
You'll learn to begin to
Trust the voice within, ohh
Young girl don't hide
You'll never change if you just run away, ooh ohh
Young girl just hold tight
Soon you're gonna see your brighter day, ohh
Now in a world where innocence is quickly claimed
It's so hard to stand your ground when you're so afraid
No one reaches out a hand for you to hold
When you're lost outside, look inside to your soul
When there's no one else
Look inside yourself
Like your oldest friend just
Trust the voice within
Then you'll find the strength
That will guide your way
If you'll learn to begin to
Trust the voice within
Ohh yeah, ooh, yeah ohh
Life is a journey
It can take you anywhere you choose to go
As long as you're learning
You'll find all you'll ever need to know
(Be strong)
Break it
(Hold on)
You'll make it
(Be strong)
Just don't forsake it because
(No one can tell you what you can't do)
No one can stop you
You know that I'm talking to you
When there's no one else
Look inside yourself
And like your oldest friend just
Trust the voice within
Then you'll find the strength
That will guide your way
You'll learn to begin to
Trust the voice within, oh yeah
Young girl don't cry
I'll be right here when your world starts to fall, ohh
I discovered this song on liquan's ipod recently and like it pretty much. so now i've got to borrow the ipod for a little dosage of this song everyday through this period. nice tune, good words =)

You know the day ahead will be tough when...

You go to the comp labs at 8am to retrieve data and find out that not 1 but 4 out of 6 computers of yours have been shut down.

When I was young...

I used to throw tantrums in the middle of the night, when I couldn't finish my work, then sometimes I wld imagine how it'd be like if I jumped down from the second floor of my house.
But then, after that, I had to paste my assessment book back after I accidentally ripped it from scribbling over it. Life is bad, cos I have endless homework from tuition which will never be finished, no matter how good a kid i was.

And then now, I cannot even throw tantrum cos I am too old. And I don't even have the right to, because FYP was given to me since last yr, and I shud have discovered and settled all the problems ages ago. But when 1. my computer keeps crashing when I am trying to get work done, 2. the security closed my 20 hour long simulation 3 when I keep making stupid mistakes and realise that my simulations before aren't exactly worth anything after doing things i detest in e2 just to keep my simulations going. 4. when there is no one to consult, cos you are the only one on the project and its really too late to ask the supervisor, 5 you discover hell lot of bugs in the program done by the prev fyp student, which makes your work really a joking matter. or which I shud have discovered long ago... it's really hard to get it all together. And the one person who wld have made it all better is no longer open to me.

Should really go to bed first.
