Nordiska Museum and Busy Dinner.

Today, Me, Dom, Qiang, Irene, SC, SC's visiting friend, Jackling and SC's japanese neighbour, Daiske, visit the Nordiska Museum. It's supposed to me a museum featuring Swedish culture, eg, home decor, costumes, shoes and traditions. Well, there are some interesting things to see, although almost all captions are in Swedish. Get an audio-guide if you really wanna understand all the things in the museum.

After that, we went to walk in the park and sat down for a bit to enjoy some sun and some sushi that Daiske brought. Dom, Qiang, Irene, Jiakai and I plan to make dinner together tonight and it's going to take a long time, so we leave for lappis early at about 5pm. SC tells us that there is a big supermarket, PrisExtra, newly opened, not far from Lappis. So Dom and Irene head off to Dom's place, while SC, Qiang and I bike to PrisExtra. It's a 10 minutes-long bike and its a nice scenic bike. You see a nice lake, trees, some farms, cows and factories along the way. You have to bike on some gravel ground and through some narrow trial to get there. It's a nice place to take a leisurely stroll too, which I only discovered today.

We take longer than expected and only start cooking about 7.30pm.. We expect to only eat at 9-something, because the dishes take some time to make.

Well, me and Dom are kind of the host for today, because we are at his kitchen and using most of our things and suggestions. Today's menu consists of cheese macaroni and crepes. We have already made cheese macaroni once and crepes 2 or 3 times before, and thought it would be nice dishes for everyone to prepare and eat! Well... bascially Dom oversaw almost the entire making of the cheese macaroni. As for the crepes, its rather labour intensive, so everyone can have a part to play in preparing them.. hehehe..

I think we made something like 50 crepes in total. Check out the pile. Oh yeah.. and I made the cream sauce here for the crepes..

Finally, we can begin eating, Jenley comes in late, but we welcome an additional stomach. We make too much food, and have lots of left-overs even after we are all stuffed. It's okay, because everyone can ta-bao home. After that, we visit SC and Jackling at SC's place, and bring some crepes over for them to sample. Over there, we are stuffed again with apple crumble that Jackling has made. Then, we watch Electra or watever u call it. I fall asleep halfway through the show anyway..

Hot Chocolate and Salsa

Today, me and Dom go to Slussen to a rather famous (according to Dom) chocolate shop. There, we indulge in hot chocolate, chocolate and cake. Talk about dacadent...

SC's friend, Jackling visits from France. SC, Jackling, Irene, David, me and some of SC's other salsa friends head to the salsa bar. This place is much better than the other place and I dont feel as awkward as the previous time, probably because Irene and Jackling are here with me this time. The rest have all taken salsa lessons except me and Irene. Jackling and SC then proceed to try and teach Irene and I some salsa. Initially, we didn't do much dancing though and talked most of the time. We only danced a little more later on. It's really fun even if you only have the slightest idea of what is going on. Basically, the guy does most of the leading and you only need to know some basic footwork and you just have to learn how to turn whenever you are indicated to turn and move wherever you are led to. I usually just hang around dancing with SC or Jackling. Then, I danced a particularly long song with David and I was turned around so many times I got giddy and whacked into his arms. Yeoow! But I enjoyed myself very much because I felt like I was actually dancing salsa.

Anyway, it's pretty common in salsa bars to just dance with people you don't know. Usually, you just go up to someone and ask if the person wants to dance for the next song and they are pretty cool about it. Irene and I shrink away whenever it happens to us. But just before we leave, we actually dance with some strangers even though we are 2 pretty clueless people. Turned out pretty ok really, they figure you are an amatuer and keep to some simple moves. I learn that the good thing about dancing with someone new is that it's the way you can learn new moves. Because, as SC says, every one/guy only knows those limited moves and after a while he'll just keep doing the same ol things. So overall, an enjoyable night of salsa.

Vaxholm

Today we decided to visit the supposed island capital of the Stockholm archipelago, Vaxholm. There are roughly 24,000 islands in total. There's a direct bus 670 from Tekniska Högskolan on Vallhallavägen about every half hour interval.Hosted by Putfile.com

Vaxholm Fortress. It has been turned into a museum depicting the history of the fortress and coastal defences, with a particular emphasis on the defence of Stockholm's archipelago. It's supposed to be one of the land attractions of Vaxholm, but it's not open till the first of June.
