Vaxholm

Today we decided to visit the supposed island capital of the Stockholm archipelago, Vaxholm. There are roughly 24,000 islands in total. There's a direct bus 670 from Tekniska Högskolan on Vallhallavägen about every half hour interval.
A very bright sunny day.


Lots of people lounging outside cafes or by the sea.





Vaxholm Fortress. It has been turned into a museum depicting the history of the fortress and coastal defences, with a particular emphasis on the defence of Stockholm's archipelago. It's supposed to be one of the land attractions of Vaxholm, but it's not open till the first of June.
