Jie3 Du2

Although the gal worked a 12 hour day today, she did it on her own accord and was very satisfied. Today, she got the video services on her first installation up and running, and then her trainee, under her instruction was able to get a second installation completed with live and video services running. At least now, she doesn't feel like the trainee has been shortchanged. He took like 30 print screens during the installation and wrote down almost every small additional detail, so she feels that he is trained enough to repeat the installation without her prescence.

So finally, nightmare for the installation is over. The girl and her colleague have both completed the main task they set out to do, and it turns out the shanghai nightmare would most probably not continue.

This is because she returned a missed call from her manager from Singapore today, asking her if they were being bullied in shanghai. she was very alarmed, because although she confided in me and some friends, she did not expect him to find out. She did not want him to get any wrong ideas becasue of an incomplete story from someone else.

However, it turned out this afternnon, when she was doing installation at another building, the main office, her manager from singapore sent out an email, requesting a conference call with her colleague, the girl and the guy for tomorrow. He was unaware of the situation, but was just requesting for an update to find out how the 2 girls were coping. Then the guy, somehow decided to call her manager to have a talk with him first, and the guy, told her manager himself that he had been pushing their limit and making the girl do the re-installation many times and made them work 16 hours on saturday. Her manager was very alarmed upon hearing this and promptly told him people in singapore don't work the same way as in Shanghai and that it is illegal in singapore to make workers work such long hours, plus what's more, the 2 girls are only trainees, not really official staff, and he told him to kindly discuss with him the next time he wants to do something like dat. this is what the manager told the girl on the phone.

The girl's colleague, *** was in the temp office and when the girl and *** talked at night, *** said the guy came to the server room to tell her about the phone call, and he was sounded so proud that he made them work 16 hours and seemed very happy he did something illegal and he was dancing around.

This makes the 2 girls wonder if his attitude will change after the incident, but at least her manager has told her on the phone that he has already told the guy that he cannot do such things and told the girl that if there continued to be problems, she could always contact him and he would speak to the guy. But really, the girl doesn't think she will contact him even if it continues so. Isn't that a sign of weakness? Anyway, just 3 or 4 days to go!

The manager also told the girl that the guy actually commented that the guy told her manager that the girl was very strong and could take pressure. she was glad to hear that. So now her manager is more concerned for her colleague. The girl is happy she did not break down and yell at that guy when he made those absurd requests. Although she tries to portray a strong side, she is really not so, as can be seen from her emotional stories. Just lucky that this time, she somehow chose to display the unhappiness here and managed not to show it in the office.
